Overview
A day of Alpine history just across the German border. Ride the official mountain bus and brass elevator up to the Eagle's Nest, then visit Documentation Obersalzberg, whose exhibition covers the Nazi leadership's use of the mountain and parts of the bunker system. Afterwards enjoy free time in Berchtesgaden's old town and a walk along Königssee to the Malerwinkel viewpoint.

Good to know
- The Eagle's Nest is open from mid-May to late October and can close in bad weather (2026 dates are sold until 31 October; the 2027 season starts on 15 May).
- The Eagle's Nest is closed in winter and reopens on 15 May 2027.
- Bring a valid passport or national ID card: the tour enters Germany.
- Bring a jacket and comfortable shoes.
- The Eagle's Nest mountain bus is shared with other visitors; the rest of the day you travel in your private vehicle.
- If the Eagle's Nest cannot operate, you receive a full refund.
- Free cancellation up to 24 hours before the start time.
