When is the Eagle's Nest open?
From mid-May until the end of October, weather permitting. Outside the season choose Königssee & Berchtesgaden, which runs all year.
Do we need a passport?
Yes. Berchtesgaden is in Germany, so every guest needs a valid passport or EU ID card, even though there is usually no border check.
Are the bus, lift and boat tickets included?
Yes, where the tour page says so: the Eagle's Nest bus and lift, the Königssee boat to St. Bartholomä and the Obersalzberg documentation centre are included for every guest.
How much walking is there?
Little. The Eagle's Nest lift takes you to the top; St. Bartholomä and the Königssee shore are flat walks. Your guide adapts the pace to you.
Where do you pick us up?
At your hotel, holiday flat or any address in Salzburg at the start time you choose (tours from the ski resorts, Linz or Munich start at your accommodation there). Pickup from Salzburg Airport or the main station is possible on request, just tell us when you book.
How do I book and pay?
Pick a tour, a date and the number of guests and send a booking request. There is nothing to pay at that point. We check availability and confirm by email or WhatsApp, usually within a few hours, and then send you the payment details. Your booking is fixed once we have confirmed it.
Can I cancel?
Yes, free of charge up to 24 hours before the start time. Later cancellations and no-shows are charged in full. If we have to cancel, for example because of dangerous road conditions, you get a full refund.
